A Dog
Friendly Mountain Escape
Dottie's Basecamp was designed with our rescue dog and adventurous lifestyle in mind, and we know that it'll be the perfect spot for you and your adventurous pup to relax and unwind between explorations. We love our secluded yard surrounded by trees and that we are just a short walk to Cowlitz River access.
A portion of every stay is donated to a PNW-based no-kill animal rescue organization, which changes each quarter. April - June 2023 rescue is Adams County Pet Rescue, where Dottie was rescued from.
About us…
Hi, we’re Cara + David! We love Packwood and the Mt Rainier area so much that we eloped on the mountain during the Covid-19 pandemic after a sunrise hike at a fire lookout! Having fallen in love with the area, we couldn’t wait to find a place to call our own to use as our basecamp to adventures. Naturally, we named it after our rescue dog, Dottie. Our place was built in 1987, and rather than demolish and build from scratch like so many other cabins in the area, we chose to reduce, reuse, and recycle! We renovated this home into a cabin over the course of fourteen months and now we’re so happy to be able to share it with guests (both human and canine) like you.
We hope you enjoy your time here. Please feel free to reach us using the contact info to the right.
Sincerely,
Cara, David, & Dottie
